Norman was a presenter on BBC Radio Manchester (now GMR) for ten years, initially presenting the "flagship" Morning Programme five days a week for three years, and then the Afternoon Programme for four years. When he later moved to Saturdays, his weekend programme became the most listened to radio programme in the region - with figures even beating those of Radios 1 and 2!

In 1994 he "moved over" to BBC Radio Lancashire where he again broke station records with his weekend programme - this time on a Sunday!

He is also the creator and Question Master of the "Local Challenge" Quiz series.
