Norman Prince

Norman was a presenter on BBC Radio Manchester for ten years, initially presenting the "flagship" Morning Programme five days a week for three years, and then the Afternoon Programme for four years. When he later moved to Saturdays, his weekend programme became the most listened to radio programme in the region - with figures even beating those of Radios 1 and 2!

In 1994 he "moved over" to BBC Radio Lancashire where he again broke station records with his weekend programme - this time on a Sunday!

When he left The Houghton Weavers in 1999 to pursue his solo career he took up the mantle of Radio Lancashire’s Saturday programme and became the ‘weekend’ voice of Radio Lancashire for another 4 very successful years. Because of the pressure of his ‘After Dinner’ work, having to travel all over Great Britain on regular occasions, Norman reluctantly left BBC Radio Lancashire after 6 years of what he described as ‘some of the happiest times in my working life’.
