Norman was the "front man" for the Houghton Weavers for over 24 years performing to over 100,000 people per year. This includes six of their own TV series "Sit Thi Deawn" for BBC Television NorthWest, five BBC Radio 2 series and the recording of 20 albums.

In the five pantomimes that the Weavers did in the North West (all as Top of the Bill) Norman played the "starring" comedy role from "Buttons" to "Idle Jack" - the "Prince" was "King"!

And in 1999 Norman starred individually with Keith Harris & Orville in the record breaking pantomime "Red Riding Hood" at the Southport Theatre.
